Shopping In Seattle?
Hi everyone. I'm going to be out in the Seattle area next month for a work assignment and was wondering if there are any good Greek shops out there. Is there anyone from Seattle (or familiar with the area) who can help me?
Thanks in advance!

We really don't have any greek shops in the seattle area as far as I know. I go to school in Tacoma (Next city south of Seattle), but I've grown up in Western Washington, and spent a lot of time in Seattle. I didn't even know that actual stores devoted to greek stuff existed until this year. If I'm wrong though, someone please correct me.

As far as I know, I would DOUBT that it would go away.
It's on the Ave and the last time I was there (which was a while ago) they had a Greek section. I could be wrong, but I think it's part of the University Bookstore (University of WA). I never actually went to the school so I never paid that much attention.
I know a couple of Phi Mu alumnae (slightly older than me) who may be able to help you out (I know the chapter is closed out here). They both went to the UW. Send me a pm and I'll shoot you their emails.

The Dawghouse is still around but their selection has been getting smaller and smaller every year. It's worth a stop in, but don't have high expectations.

I have also been to the UW Bookstore (on University Way) and they also have a very small selection: think bumper stickers and plastic tumblers and that's about it.
And the UW Bookstore and The Dawghouse are 2 separate entitites, although they are just down the street from each other (both on University Way).

That's the part I wasn't sure of. Since I've never needed to buy anything there.......

I don't think the Ave has anything... And I think all the greeks purchase their stuff online. So I'll have to ask them where they get their stuff.
But I can check out the Dawghouse and see if they have anything--but I doubt it...
That's the University of Washington on University Avenue and probably 45th Street.

The dawghouse actually went out of business about a year ago, but it was replaced by a very similar store - I don't remember the name at the moment.
The UW bookstore in the University district (not the downtown or Bellevue branch) does have a small greek section - last time I checked, they had both fraternity/sorority stickers, those fun plastic cups, keychains, bottle openers for the fraternities, and bean bag mascots for the sororities. They have also had greek-themed scrapbooks in the past.
