I was looking on the Make-a-Wish website and reading their stories about wishes that they've granted. As many people on here know, the Make-a-Wish Foundation is Chi Omega's philanthropy. There was a story about how their Iota chapter, helped grant a wish for a 6 year old girl who wanted to star in a commercial. The story was just so cute that I had to share.
Six-year-old Shelby gracefully walked the red carpet with only inches of velvet rope separating her from her 1,300 autograph-seeking, poster-waving fans. She was minutes away from the world premiere of her brand new, gripping 60-second public service announcement. She strolled toward her director’s chair and granted an interview to a local media personality who had been eagerly awaiting her arrival. Then – for the first time – the young ingénue watched her commercial acting debut.
Energized by the delightful finished product, the precocious youngster appeased her fans by autographing glossy promotional photos of herself. These fans were enthusiastic Chi Omega collegiates and alumnae gathered on the opening night of Chi Omega Convention 2004 in San Antonio, Texas, to cheer on Shelby as she fulfilled the final phase of her wish from the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central & South Texas.
