What's the funniest thing a non-greek has ever said to you?

I know that in our college days or after we have in encountered some ignorant GDI's that have said or done some things that are hilarious. Let's share. I'll go first.

Once while walking the yard a young lady walked up to me and said, "Oh I didn't know you were a Kay ( and she pronounced it that way). How do u say the other ones, because they must be is Spanish or something." I almost died laughing.

Once some dude who was interested walked up to me and said, "Can I ask you one question? I want to be a Kappa so bad, but I heard you guys are required to dress up everyday. I don't have any nice clothes so I didn't bother to go to the interest meeting. Is that true?" I didn't know whether I should be flattered or should slap the hell out of him.

I kept trying to answer this, but everything I think of was just plain annoying and not funny at all.

And I'm a pretty easy-going person, so that's saying a lot.

Hope you don't mind the crash but I thought this one was kinda cute.

At my school, we have Fall Kick-off on the first day of the fall semester. Student organizations set up tables, there is food and freebies, etc. There are always these really random hippie-type dudes who play wooden flutes and meditate. They wear long, flowing white robes and are not American... although I'm not sure what nationality they are. I'm not sure what club they are supporting lol.

Anyway, this one guy walks up to me in letters and proclaimed loudly, "OM!" I was like, ummmm excuse me? And he just kept saying OM, OM over and over. I was totally confused until he pointed to my shirt and said, "OM! You like meditation?" Finally, I figured it out and told him that my shirt said Phi Mu, not OM... but he never really got the picture. He just kept saying, "We like OM!" over and over. However, every time I walked past him later in the day, he gave me a BIG thumbs up, so I guess he was down

I was wearing my Chi Omega badge and was asked:

"Are you a Malcom X fan?"

I just said, "Yes."

Well, most recently a co-worker of mine KEPT saying "06" to me every morning.... I mean sure, if I am wearing my jacket or a shirt or something, I don't mind you acknowledging that I am an Alpha. But negro you KNOW you went to an HBCU and KNOW you ain't supposed to be 06ing all willy nilly.

But he stopped when I gave him my Mr. Darden face.

It's cute when my students say "What's A, O with a line through it, A mean?"

Soror, if I have one more man Skee Wee me! Why do they think they are cute when they do that??? What is up with men Skee Weeing the Sorors?

I guess one of the weirdest things that I heard was when a guy walked up to me (he was a security guard in the store Express) and he said, "Oh, you're an AKA? Well, I have always wanted to date an AKA. Do ya'll be having parties and stuff? Can I come?" When I realized that he was serious and did not know that he sounded crazy, I just smiled, thanked him and confirmed that we have parties sometimes.

Also, I always have young high schoolers tell me that they want to be in the sorority when they get to college - then they struggle as they inevitably say "I know it's Alpha, Alpha, what's the 'K' (kay, not kappa) for again?" It's cute. Their so innocent and truly interested. I once had a high schooler dang near chase me down in Macy's after she exclaimed out loud "Oh! An AKA!" (lol) and proceeded to inform me that her grandmother and aunt are Sorors and she has just always wanted to be an "AKA." It's all good.

LOL! My older sister went to college when I was in the fifth grade and a lot of her friends pledged Alpha Kappa Alpha. I remember hearing them talk about it and at the time the only thing that I thought AKA stood for was Alpha Kappa Alpha, well one day we were in math class and this girl next to me asked me what AKA stood for. I looked and her with a big smile and said "Alpha Kappa Alpha! The best sorority to join!" She looked at me with a look and said "Katie wrote me a letter that says "To: Tiff AKA Shorty"...I don't get it..."

When I think about it I can't help but laugh and feel so ignorant.

But you know..... my Little Bro (female) in APO walked past a flier that said "AKA Party".....she was like "Also Known As a Party? That doesn't make any sense!!!"

She had a good laugh once she read the rest of the flier.

Once a freshman saw a flier for "Skee-weekend" and was like "How are u gonna have a skee weekend in Florida? Ain't no snow."

And the question remains...to educate or to die laughing...that is the question.

Someone I know just said that isht to me earlier today in an email. He's a Mason and basically thinks that BGLO's are unimportant. I think he got a reject letter.

I was 5 seconds from cussing him out, then I realized that his mind is fixed on a certain mindset and nothing I say will change it. That's his loss for being ignorant.
