Middle finger on TBS?
So as I was watching Mr. Deeds on TBS tonight, I noticed that they didn't blur out a few middle finger gestures. Is that ok on cable now? Just curious cuz I thought that was considered in the whole cursing on cable tv FCC crap.

Weird - I just watched something on there a few days ago & they did... now what was it...
Dontcha love how TBS will air a movie with "THREE CHANCES TO WATCH" as if that will be the last time it's ever going to be on? As if you could PRAY that it would be the last time it's ever on... the next step is a Saturday Night Classic. (Not that I mind... usually its A League of Their Own, or A Few Good Men -- and I really liked Mr. Deeds) [/rant]

You know, my boyfriend commented on this the other night...I can't remember what movie it was, but we were up really late and we both thought we heard the f-word. It was plain as day! He said that they usually replace it with a tamer word, but maybe since it was so late at night they thought no one would notice?

Damasa that'd be quite enjoyable. I hate watching movies where they're bleeping/blurring/replacing every swear word. At least at night it's like come on children are sleeping so why not let that 4 letter word in.

Sometimes late at night (after midnight) Comedy Central will show the South Park movie completely un-edited. The first time I saw that I was like it's only 12:30, there could easily still be little kids seeing this.

Yes, they do that all the time. I've never seen it before 1 AM though.

The FCC has no authority over the content on cable.
In fact, with the exception of possible "common carrier" situations, the FCC has little authority over cable at all.
