Alpha Gam Adds to the Squirrel Nest
From our official website:
International Council is pleased to announce that Alpha Gamma Delta will colonize at Virginia Tech beginning in late January 2006. The opportunity to colonize early next year is the result of a decision made several years ago to invite three National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) groups to colonize at Virginia Tech. It is now Alpha Gamma Delta’s turn to start a colony!
Virginia Tech, a campus with more than 21,000 full-time undergraduate students, is located in Blacksburg, Virginia, which is approximately 40 miles southwest of Roanoke. It has a very strong Greek community that is well supported by the university. There are currently 12 NPC groups at Virginia Tech. Chapter total is 85, and the average chapter size last year was 123. The All Women Greek grade point average for the 2004-2005 academic year was 3.201.
A small team of Alpha Gamma Delta volunteers and staff members has made its first visit to Virginia Tech, where it met with members of the college Panhellenic, university personnel, Alpha Gamma Delta alumnae and others. The team members are unanimous in their enthusiasm about the campus and their excitement about our colonization.
As with all successful colonizations, Virginia Tech will need support from our members—both collegiate and alumnae. From recruitment to serving as an advisor or in another volunteer capacity, to providing financial support, there will be many opportunities to be a part of this unique opportunity!
This will be our 4th chapter in Virginia!
