A state senator from South Carolina (Myrtle Beach to be exact) is trying to get a law passed that will make people organ donors automatically if they have a drivers license. What are some of your thoughts about this...personally I think it is stupid...I am a organ donor, but if someone doesnt want to be one then they shouldn't have to
It will never pass, as it would be unconstitutional. Some religions don't allow organ donation/transplants, so to make it mandatory wouldn't work.
I once heard that some counties in Kentucky (?) will levy a fine OR a donation of blood for some misdemeanors (mostly traffic fines). If the bill had a clause such as that, it would most probably be legal.

I really don't think that's a good idea. While I think it's so important to be a donor and try to save someone's life, I think the choice should be up to the donor themself, not the government.
