When I was a kid, I had a wagon. And I sat in the wagon, and had a table over me with a hole through it big enough for my head. The table was decorated all formal, with glasses and silverware and one of those entree covers over my head. My sister was dressed as a butler and pushed me around it looked like my head was on a platter. It was awesome, people loved it.

My favorite costume as a kid was Princess Leia in the Return of the Jedi outfit. (Not the one she wore in Jabba the Hut's place, but the one she wore when fighting with the Ewoks).
ETA - I like the head on a platter idea. Very creative!
