What country would you live in...

To what countries have you traveled, and of those, which could you see yourself living in if for some reason you had to leave the U.S. (or Canada, if that is where you live)?

I've been to:
United States
Canada
Mexico
France
Germany
Switzerland
Austria
Liechtenstein
Luxembourg
Iceland
Ireland

Of those, I would choose Ireland. Nothing beats the good old U.S.A., but if I had to leave, that's where I'd go.

I've been to:

England
N. Ireland
Scotland
France
Germany
Luxembourg
Austria
Italy
Switzerland
Holland
Belgium
Mexico

I don't know where I'd pick of those, but it'd definitely be one with national health care. Probably England.

Aotearoa...the land of the clouds...New Zealand. For some reason I feel like my entire being has its origins in Aotearoa.

Even if I didn't have to leave, I'd live there. I remember standing on a cliff overlooking the marae and thinking that I'd take this over the U.S. any day. For real.

Settle in for a long list.

I've been to:

United States (duh)
Canada
Mexico
Venezuela
Brazil
Argentina
United Kingdom (specifically, England and Scotland)
France
Germany
Austria
Spain
Portugal
Italy
Switzerland
Hong Kong *
China
Thailand
Singapore
Malaysia
and probably a few more countries that I'm forgetting...

* I've visited Hong Kong twice, once when it was still part of the UK, and again, a couple of years ago, after it had reverted to China. I have visited China outside of HK as well (Guangzhou).

If I had to leave the US, I'd choose either Canada, the UK, or Singapore.

I have traveled to:

Mexico
Hong Kong/China
United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales)
South Korea
Belgium
Germany
Poland

If I had to live somewhere else other than the US, I would chose England. Of course, since I used to live there, my answer should come as no big surprise. It's as if a piece of my heart is especially drawn to Somerset (a county in southwest England). I don't understand why; but I sometimes feel compelled to return. I must say, it's a strange feeling. I wonder if it's similar to what OTW described....

Here is a similar link about countries other GCers have traveled to...

I've been to:

Austria
Belgium
France
Germany
India

And I'm going to Ireland next month.

I plan on living in another country eventually, if I ever raise a family I'd like to settle down in Austria. I think I'll do more traveling throughout India if I get a chance though-maybe get a job & stay there for a few years.

^ hmmm, interesting name for the middle east..that is, if we were to overgeneralize the entire region as being a "sandbox"

Anyway, places where I've lived for more than 3 yrs:

Saudi Arabia
Somalia
Canada
United States

visited:
Italy

I would live in Canada, just because that's more "home" to me..

Based on my travels, I think I could easily live in France or England.

'Cause it's a whole lot easier to say than 'an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia'!

Been to (other than the US of A):

Germany (courtesy of the USAF)
Luxembourg
Venezuela
Mexico

I haven't been to many places outside of the US but from what I have seen Grand Cayman looks like a pretty awesome (if expensive) place to live.

I will open up a tiki bar on Seven Mile Beach and invite all the GreekChatters to drink for free (which will no doubt bankrupt me)
