A Doddridge County man accused of murdering his pregnant 14-year-old daughter for fear she would reveal their incestuous relationship has been indicted by a grand jury on four felonies.
Thirty-four-year-old David Andrew Keigley of Zinnia was indicted Monday in West Union on charges of murder, incest, sexual abuse by a parent and death of a child by a parent in the June 26 death of his daughter, Mariah Keigley.
Her body was found wrapped in black plastic bags in the farmhouse she shared with her father, his girlfriend and other children, who are now in state custody.
David Keigley allegedly told state police he killed his daughter because he feared she may have become pregnant. That's according to a criminal complaint released three days after her death.
Her pregnancy was later confirmed by autopsy reports.
Keigley allegedly told state police Sgt. James Merrill he suffocated the girl by placing a plastic bag over her head. The autopsy confirmed the cause of death as asphyxiation.
Keigley is being held at the North Central Regional Jail in Doddridge County.
