Hilary Clinton and Alpha Kappa Alpha

As usual, I was browsing the Alpha Kappa Alpha website looking for updates and the like. I came across something very intersting. Senator and former First lady Hilary Clinton was invited to become an Honorary Member and declined.I had heard rumors of this about a month ago. I was at a function ( non-greek) and I over heard a group of Alpha Kappa Alpha women discussing their views of this. I wanted to open this up to discussion.

I know that the organization is not exclusive to African-Americans but how do you all feel about this invitation? Would she be a proper reperesentatioin of the values and foundations of Alpha Kappa Alpha? Seocndly, how do you all feel about the fact that she declined the invitation?

I do not have an opinion either way at this particular time. I just thought it would make for interesting and thought provoking conversation

They asked, she declined. It happens to all of us who have honorary memberships.

I don't think that this is an appropriate discussion to be had publically, on an open message board, for the whole world to see and view the opinions of a few sorors as the opinions of the entire membership of Alpha Kappa Alpha. What was said on the website is pretty much all that needed to be said.
