moral builders

I was just wondering what you all did when your chapter was a little down. We are an amazing chapter but we aren't what we used to be and I would like to see us positive and doing great things again. Any ideas about sisterhoods and things like that I would appreciate it.

Sarah

Chocolate!!

Spa parties (can be done at the house or someone's apt to save $$

There is a cute thing we did at TLC and other events where everyone gets in a circle...then as the moderator reads a list of "who has, who did, etc., everyone with that characteristic goes to the inner circle until the next question."

Great to learn things about new and older members esp at the beginning of the semester..."What I did on my summer vacation"

Tell everyone to wear a jersey (not a specific kind)...then at the gathering, have everyone split up into groups based on
1. the background color of the shirt or
2. color of A
3. color of G
4. color of D
5. If there is a name on the back
6. if there is a pic of a squirrel or rose(s)

And just chat!

Amazing what you learn!

We used to go to a "Ropes Course" once a year for team building issues. Not sure if it really boosted our moral, but I think that was part of the intent.

I hardly ever do this, but I am going to be slightly anal for about two seconds:
Morale.

One of my fav things we did was all the sisters got big index cards placed on their backs. Then you went around and wrote something great about that sister on her index card. You didnt sign your name to it though.
I still have mine. It was awesome to see all the wonderful things my sisters said about me- it totally made my rush week. I still have the card today in my scrapbook.

Sometimes having a sister circle is good, too.
You all sit in a circle and pass a candle or a squirrel and say one reason why you love alpha gam, or a particular sister or something about your particular chapter. you go around the circle once or twice and it really does kind of make everyone emotional. It's really sweet.

I always loved snowball fights.
Everyone sits in a circle and writes a unique fact about themself (I only eat blue M&M's or My mom had a book published or even I once threw up on a waiter in a fancy restuarant) on a sheet of plain white paper- then you wad it up and throw the "snowball" at a sister across the circle, she throws the snowball and so there is a huge snowball fight going on. Someone hollers STOP and calls on a sister to grab a snowball near her and read it, then she has to try and figure out what sister wrote it. It's a lot of fun and you learn a lot of interesting things about each other.

lol.....unless during this event a sister confesses to eating the creams out of several oreos and placing them back in the bag.... only to have the sister who actually ATE those oreos (and wondered what the manufacturer was smoking that day to screw up the best part of an oreo) receive that snowball and proceed to lovingly beat the guilty sister down.

good times, good times and no, this was not ilovemyglo and myself.

BTW that is so a true story.
Caroline confessed in her snowball to eating the cream out of some oreos the other day and Emily got the snowball and read it- well it turned out Emily had eaten said Oreos and was lovingly trying to kill Caroline.
I almost peed my pants it was so funny.
