Attn Phi Mu: Did anyone else get this email?

Received this in my gmail inbox this morning:

AGAPEED@aol.com to me

Hello,

I am writing to inform you of an auction I currently have on eBay.com! Have you ever wondered about the secrets of other sorority and fraternities? Well, I am giving you the rare opportunity to find out more about Phi Mu. Why would you want to do that? Because they are you competition! What is a more perfect way to learn about your foes? By studying them! Learn everything you can and then take the good and apply it - the bad avoid.

How did I get it? At a used book sale. I am not a Phi Mu or a Greek for that matter. Therefore I have no ulterior motives. I love history and found this book to be fascinating. I am now downsizing my private library and this book is one of the many I have decided to auction off and send to new homes for new readers to enjoy!

This is a female fraternity.

Here's the link: [I removed the link for privacy purposes, as I'm sure you don't want the auction advertised as much as I do -- PM me for the link--OTW]

This is an awesome opportunity!

i didn't receive the email, however, i have been emailing with the seller. i believe she has a copy of the history book. i wasn't able to open the picture she sent, so she is resending them to me. i have a feeling that not being greek, when she saw the section that said, "ritual" which just explains the history of the ritual without giving details, she assumed that she was learning secrets!

i have read phi mu's history books, and books from other orgs and they all have a ritual section, but nothing secret (stuff you could get from their website or new member manual).

i will let you know what i find out.

I emailed for a photo and description of the book.

I am almost 100% certain it is "Phi Mu: The first 130 years" by Anadell Lamb. It is an authorized history and does not contain anything that would be of a confidential manner. Additionally, it was for sale by the Carnation Collection a couple years ago for less than the ebay amount now.

The currect edition of the Phi Mu history is available there. It is wonderful and completely inclusive (I am even in it!!!!)
