Post History and future

I've been away for a while and I've come back to check out what's going on in greekchat to find so many questions reguarding the different races in historically black organizations.

I would like to know do any of you feel that race matters as long as the traditions and purpose are upheld?

And...How do you feel about the following comment?

I feel that yes these organizations where found and created for the black people, but do you think that the founders may have wanted to reach the goal of each organizaton being multiracial with the same purpose to help the african american population? (for example schools were started so that blacks could have the same education as whites, and are now mixed. So what about black glo's created to uplift the black communities as the white-and where black students could get together and share social activities.)

I feel that if we are all working to uphold the traditions and purpose set fourth by our founders, race should not be an issue. I also think that black GLO's should reach out to other races, not solely for the purpose of bringing them into our organization, but educating them on what we are all about.
