30 days

Did anyone watch 30 days last night on FX? I watched it and it really makes you think. The first episode was about living on minimal wage for a month. The show was trying to show that it is truly hard to live on minimal wage.

Next weeks episode is can a couch potato get back in shape with human growth hormones in 30 days.

I didn't watch the show, but.....I picked up a book at Borders last year that was along the same lines. The writer moved around and worked minimum wage jobs to see if it was livable. I didn't finish the book, and now I can't think of the title of it.

I watched it. I really enjoyed it. It really puts my money situation into perspective. Sometimes I don't know how good we really have it.

Next week sounds really interesting!

I loved it. I grew up really poor, like single mother on a part time minimum wage job poor. It really hit home, and made me realize how good I have it now. Maybe by putting that on television, it will make more people stop and think.

I didn't watch it b/c I didn't like supersize me. A few of my friends were talking about it too. Maybe I'll give it a try next week.

I had to read that in college, and it was an eye opener.

Did anyone see the last show with the binge drinking mom. She was trying to teach her daughter a lesson, that binge drinking can really hurt you.

I really thought this one was really funny, because they would show the mom drinking and then she would sleep in late the next day. Then try to talk to her daughter who really was not paying any attention to her.

I really like this show and I think FX did well by picking it up.

Then again I really enjoyed Supersize Me. I think this entire 30 Days concept is great. I like how he made himself work min. wage jobs along with his gf for 30 days.

Seems to me that her experiment was not that smart - she said she'd never expdrienced the whole college drinking scene. So.... was this a sly way for "soccer mom" to "break loose" for a moment?

What I think would have been more effective is to let the daughter drink like a fish (even more) - while monitoring her to make sure she didn't OD - then track the effects that it was having on her body/ brain. Also - record what she was doing during her "black outs".

Unfortunately, her daughter will have to learn from her mistakes. You can see she is much wilder than she is letting on. She'll probably be in the next "Girls Gone Wild" video.
