NEWARK, Del. -- Police are investigating the reported rape of a student at a frat house at the University of Delaware.
The alleged attack happened late Saturday or early Sunday at the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity house on South Chapel Street in Newark, police said.
The university released a statement that said the alleged victim is receiving support and counseling.
Students at the school learned of the allegation through the campus Web site and a student newspaper.
"(I'm) very surprised, yeah. Just hoping it's not true, but if it is, whoever did it should be prosecuted to the full extent," student Justin Duvler said.
Members of the fraternity declined to comment to NBC 10.
The fraternity's president released a statement that said, "The Newark police have not contacted us regarding an incident. Our fraternity house (is) the alleged location in the crime report. That is the only information we have at this time."
