Delta Zeta sorority raised about $5,300 for Gallaudet University and the National Center for Hearing Assessment Management Tuesday night at its philanthropy, Dream Man and Greek Goddess 2005.

Brad Sweet, a Sigma Phi Epsilon member and Megan Knight, a Sigma Kappa member, both played their way to success on the piano, becoming this year’s Dream Man and Greek Goddess.

Contestants from 11 Greek chapters dressed in their best swimwear and performed a variety of acts to exhibit their talents. Contestants also participated in a question and answer portion.

Talent acts ranged from instrumental routines and dance performances to monologues from "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy" and the end dance number from "Napoleon Dynamite."

Sweet, who performed the vocals and instrumentals to "Ordinary People" by John Legend, has been playing the piano for 15 years, he said.

Knight had to pick up the talent again after not playing the piano for about five years and played "Pachelbel Canon" by Johann Pachelbel.

Knight said she was glad she won and happy to accept her house’s nomination for the contest because the pageant is a good way to keep chapters involved and support other philanthropies.
