Women's shoes -- size 12 and up

I know about nordstrom's. But I was wondering whether anyone knew of any national chain stores or even reputable Web sites where size 12 and up shoes can be found?

My friend is looking to go beyond sneakers and birks, and try something more ladylike. I told her I'd try greekchat because you guys are everywhere and know about everything....

thanks. she's looking for shoes such as nice sandals, pumps or something like that.

I work for Naturalizer and if she goes to the website, she can search to see what sizes we have available in a 12.

HOWEVER most stores will not have a lot in stock in 12, but she can go into the store, see if they have anything, and order from there.

I would go to Nordstroms if you have one in your area--- they are great!! My husband has a large foot, the sales guy always calls around to the other stores to check on inventory--many times they have ordered shoes in so he could try them on and see if he liked them (at other stores we usually have to purchase the shoes first) the sales people use to call our house about once a month and let us know what they had in stock in his size. Customer service there has always been great!

they also have FREE returns, and you can return for up to a year after purchase... also they almost always give you free shipping. it's a great website, and if it doesnt fit or you dont like it returns are super-easy!

A friend of mine is a size 11 so I've spent many days with her going from shoe store to shoe store with her to find her size. A size 11 is pretty hard to find; many shoe stores will only carry up to size 10.

I'm pretty sure that DSW Shoe Warehouse carries the larger sizes but they only have what is out on the floor.....nothing in the back stockroom and they can't order it for you. So, if the size you need isn't out on the floor, you're SOL. The one place that my friend can always find shoes is at Nordstrom. If the shoe is unavailable in her size, they'll order it for her. My roommate goes to Nordstrom all the time for shoes because she is a 9N which is very rare.

I love Zappos, too, so one more vote for them. The shoes come *really* quickly in the mail and returning them was just smacking the sticker on the box.

We have a place here in Birmingham called Unique Feet. They have a website (www.uniquefeet.com) and you can order from there. I have never actually bought anything there (just because I always forget about it) and I don't know what their return policy is, but I've heard it's a nice store.

Try designer shoes. I haven't purchased anything from there, but they have some nice shoes. Some are expensive, but they have sales frequently.

And ZTAngel, if you're talking DSW in Orlando, they had very few size 11's when I went there just over a year ago. I even called and they said that they generally go only to a size 10.

bluz4, also have your friend try payless. I bought a cute pair of shoes from there (just for church, not everyday) and they're quite comfortable. I've never been a fan of payless, but I think their styles are getting better.

I went to the one in Altamonte a few months ago and they had a few size 11's. There weren't a whole lot of them but my friend was able to find what she was looking for. Of course, this was after finding shoes that she liked more but the store didn't have them in her size! I guess that's to be expected when you're looking for shoes over a size 10.

I think Off Broadway (by Millenia) had size 11's also but I'm not 100% sure.

I still have YET to go to Millenia mall. . . I understand that they may have a couple of stores in my price range!

But if you run across a store in any of the malls that carry a decent stock of size 11's would you post them here?

Thanks!

You haven't been to Millenia yet?! I think you're an Orlando rarity!

There's a few stores that are in a more affordable price range. They have the usual Macy's-Burdines, Express, Arden B, Ann Taylor, etc. mixed in with the slightly (heh heh) more expensive Chanel, Gucci, Burberry, Neiman's, etc.

I go shopping a lot with the friend who wears a size 11 so I'll definitely post it here or PM you if I happen to find a store that has a good stock of them. So far, Nordstrom's (Florida Mall) is the best one.

I have ordered clothes and shoes from this site before - http://www.tallwomensclothes.com/

Their shoe collection is very basic but they carry sizes 10-13 and some half sizes which is what I usually need.

Most of them are the Van Eli brand which also has a big selection on shoe dini where there is a larger collection and they go up to about size 12.

Women's sizes are larger than men's right? So if you have a size 5 women's is that like a size 8 men's?

No- the opposite--- I wear a 7 in womens and a 5 or so in mens.
So no her friend doesn't really wear a mans 16 or so shoe-- more like a mens 10 maybe..... (not real sure on the conversion)
