Marco Island, FL?
Anybody ever been there?
Know someone with a condo there... thinking about going with some friends in May. None of us are big parties, so that's not a concern. Just wanted to learn some more about it!

We used to vacation there - it is more of a family/old people spot but if you aren't into partying, that'll be cool. It's really pretty, really fun, and not quite as touristy as some other beach areas are.

I've been. My family has a condo in Naples, FL which is nearby. Marco Island is really pretty not touristy. The beaches are really pretty though one time I was on a float in the water and there were some stingrays swimming under my float. Yikes!

dani, you should make the trip! i live in naples which is the nearest city to marco. as others have said, marco has lovely beaches, the weather should still be nice in may, and the snowbirds will be gone so you can actually go out to restaurants and not wait for 90 minutes(in naples, at least). naples is a quick 20 minutes drive and has 5th avenue which is loaded with restaurants and shops that stay open late.you can park your car and stroll up and down and people-watch. lisa

wow... that's kinda crazy!
The two main airports "near" it were Miami and Ft. Lauderdale- each about 2 hours away. There's some other regional sounding airport nearby, but I don't know if any of the major carriers service it.

Southwest Florida International Airport is the nearest which is in Ft. Myers. They have the major carriers. We have a condo on Vanderbilt Beach in Naples and we fly into there...about a half hour-45 minute drive. We fly USAirways from Pittsburgh straight through to Sourthwst Florida Airport...occasionally we might have a layover in Charlotte but not too bad. THere is a very small airport in Naples but if you want a major airliner your best bet would be the Southwest Florida airport. As far as "international"...I think they call it that cuz it flies to the Bahamas and Mexico

,the nearest international airport is located between naples and ft.myers right off i-75. however, pure driving time is approx. 20 to 25 minutes to naples from the airport. rsw is the abbreviation. delta now is flying into naples, but i can only imagine what the price must be!!!rsw is international because there are flights to and from canada and europe, not just the bahamas
