Awww, that's too bad. I actually thought they were a Hollywood couple that had potential.

This doesn't surprise me at all. The Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen break up doesn't surprise me at all either.
Hollywood is like one giant highschool where all the cool and popular kids only date each other, and no relationship ever lasts.

See, now I thought I'd heard about this breakup earlier, like a few months ago, but I guess not...

I don't really care that they broke up. I'm sure that it is sad for them, but it doesn't impact my life at all.

i used to see them around Wilmington when Katie filmed Dawson's Creek. i knew they weren't going to last....Chris was always pushing her way too hard. she was just a sweet, hometown type girl.
plus, they've been engaged forever and never really settled on any marriage plans......usually after so much time, its obvious something's not working out otherwise they would have been married by now

I am sure this sucks for them and all, but when I read that the first thought that came to my mind was "I hope she gets back with Joshua Jackson"....
Wow... that was really sad

I almost feel bad, but I have been rooting for them to break up for years! I have always had a huge crush on Chris Klein.

The length of both of their relationships is an accomplishment when you consider that the worldwide average life of a committed, monogamous relationship -- married or not -- is four years.
"Honeymoon monogamy" is when two people are newly in love and are basically so obsessed with each other that there is little time or energy left over to pursue sex or romance with other people. Statistically this period lasts an average of four years.
Four years is enough time to "meet, mate, procreate and separate" according to Mark Tays (who is a licensed professional counselor in Austin)
I see most people in Hollywood as "serial monogamists" --- but is that really any different than the population at large?
