Hey! I'm a Theta at Pepperdine in Malibu, CA. Our chapter (Zeta Phi)rocks here-we're the largest sorority on campus and are a very close group of girls. I had a question-what kind of fundraisers do you guys do to raise money for CASA? We have some ideas but we wanted to know what Thetas did from other schools. Thanks!

Cool

Hey! Hope everything is going well with your chapter over in California! I just want to reply back to your message really quick. In the fall, we sponsor Theta Encore which is like a dance competition involving all of the other new member pledge classes from each sorority. It is a lot of fun to watch and the other houses get so into it. We always have a great turnout from the fraternity guys too! In the spring we do Diamond Days, which is a softball tournament between other fraternities or independent teams. Sometimes we have participation from other sororities as well. Each team pays to enter the tournament. We give away prizes to the winners too. It is a lot of fun just being outside in the spring weather, relaxing, and watching cute guys play softball. They also have a good time with it too. Hope this can sort of help with any other of your chapter's ideas. Feel free to write me back and let me know what you do for fundraisers. Thanks!!

We throw Frats on the Fairway. It's a HUGE golf tournament that ALL the guys get totally hyped up about. We split up and 'coach' the guys, it's more like we drive the golf cart, bring them food, and cheer, but they love us for it!

We do an annual Theta Twister. Any group on campus (Greek or otherwise) can have a team and enter for a fee (I think we always did like a dollar or two per person.) All the other Greeks on campus would sponsor a team, as well as non-Greeks...in addition to raising money for CASA, it was a great way to bring together Greeks and Independents!

Also, one year during Greek Week, we had money jars set up outside the dining hall. Each group had their own jar, and people would toss spare change into their jar. At the end of the week, the group with the most money won the money from all the jars for their philanthropy.

We do "rock the casa" and it features bands most of which are fraternity bands. For some reason it seems that most of the theta chapters that do this do it with the phi delt's. It is awesome and a chance to hear some great bands
