The Beta Gamma Chapter at the University of Florida is participating in an event called Dance Marathon.
Dance Marathon is an annual 32-hour event in which 600 University of Florida students stay awake and on their feet to raise money and awareness for the Children's Miracle Network at Shands Children's Hospital. Dancers participate in a variety of fun activities such as wacky games and competitions, a group line dance and enjoy entertainment by musicians, dance groups and other student and community organizations. Miracle families who have overcome incredible odds inspire dancers by sharing their testimonies throughout the event. Dancers are faced with both mental and physical challenges in an effort to symbolize the obstacles faced by the children at Shands.
We are doing this as one of our big philanthropy events for the spring semester. We are planning to have 6 dancers. Each dancer must raise $250. This means a grand total for our chapter of $1500. We are hoping to raise more, but this is our goal. The Beta Gamma Chapter is asking for any Sigma Alpha chapter or individual to help. You can make a donation of any amount whether as small as $1.00 or as big as $100, which would be greatly appreciated. To learn more about the event or to make an online donation visit
www.floridadm.org. To me a donation go under fundraising, then make donation if you decide to help. The money is due by Feb. 22nd. If you have any questions please contact our Chapter President. Thanks to everyone for your help.
