Question About Dues

What do you do to convince your sisters to pay dues?

As a former treasurer, I sent their asses to collections, and their parents too, since they had to sign that form. People sure paid up real quick.


ETA: B/C this sounded really harsh. I didn't send anyone and everyone to collections. But there came a point where some girls owed hundreds of dollars in back dues, showed up to every event and never paid a dime, and always had an excuse.
If someone came to me needing a payment plan or some extram time for whatever reason, I ALWAYS gave it to them.

Caryn, I'm gonna barge on your thread because I know of your situation. Try telling girls that if they don't pay their dues, they can't do fun stuff like go to formal or mixers or take littles. That usually works really well for us.

As far as I know, if you don't pay dues in our chapter you're inactive. Period. There's a deadline, and we do have payment plans, but a sister is not allowed to attend any functions or meetings if she is inactive. If you're inactive for more than one semester, I believe you're forced to deactivate.

My chapter follows that rule too....I think thats a national thing, you could look in to it or ask your advisor.
