That’s when it struck me. This wasn’t simply some glorified dance. It had a purpose. This whole affair — the stamp of approval from a noted sorority and the support of family and community — was a show of affirmation. It was the community’s way of saying to the debutantes: “You’re young, bright and gifted. We believe in you. Press on and do great things.”

Cool Article. I've seen pictures of The Greater Cleveland Alumane Chapter of DST's Cotillion ball last year in the Call and Post Newspaper here in Cleveland. that's a very cool thing to do.

As a former DST cotillion participant, I appreciate the coverage. It's an awesome tradition.
