The survey conducted by Cornell University also found that Republicans and people who described themselves as highly religious were more apt to support curtailing Muslims’ civil liberties than Democrats or people who are less religious.
That's kinda a given.

Funny how Muslims overwhelmingly voted for Bush in 2000 and their domestic views fall right in line with Republicans.

I find that hard to believe, can I get some proof on that?

Why is it hard to believe? Put aside the imagery and all that.

Anyway here:

"Four years ago, a post-election CAIR survey of 1,774 American Muslims found that 72 percent voted for Bush, 19 percent for Ralph Nader and 8 percent for Democrat Al Gore. "

But there are more studies and surveys than that...just do a general google search and you'll see:

Put aside what imagery? All I ask for was proof, don't get all bent out of shape. To be honest it never dawn on me to look up who Muslims voted for in mass because for the most part you have two (make that 3)different groups of MUSLIMS in this country.

1. You have your core Muslims, those who were born into the religion and/or come to the US from Muslim dominated countries.

2. You have your Muslims who converted to the religion at some point in their lives. I fall into this catergory.

3. you have the Muslims who were converted while in prison. Throw this group out because most can't vote anyway.

Before I saw you example I figured that not every Muslim followed the same political path lock stock and barrel for the simple fact that Islam isn't a selling point that most politicians use. You never hear in "Allah we Trust". So it never came to me to say that Muslims voted exclusively to a single party in any election.

But remember this was before 9/11 and what followed it.
