Composites?
our president elect is looking for a new composite company for our chapter, because our current one is really bad, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions?

There are a lot of threads on this topic, but to save you from sorting through posts about how much Fraternal Composites suck, I highly recommend Greek Yearbook!

Composites
The general opinion here- avoid Fraternal Composites. Vantine has done ours since 1990 and they are very nice and professional.

Ours are done by Custom Composites Inc. (815) 385-8150
They look pretty nice in my opinion.

Do you know how often FC calls the Greek Affairs office?!!? We all try to avoid them but some of our chapters decided to sign multi-year contracts It just encourages the bastards to keep calling. They love you until you sign on. Then send rude photographers (who sometimes decide to reshedule without notifying the chapter). Send bills for more than was originally agreed upon. Then return the composites a year later-most still haven't gotten them from 2003. That is the year I was Phi Director (new member ed) It should be up framed in my house with my husbands last composite

When I was in school, one of our advisors was a professional photographer, so we all just wore a black turtleneck and she took individual pictures of us outside, and then we put together the composite ourselves. Cheap for the chapter, it looked great, and it was special because it was done by our advisor. So that's a creative way you could look into having your composite done.

My big was photo chair, and she found that a brother of an alumnae was a photographer for a company in columbus. So he came out and did our photos in the back yard of our house. We all shared 1 strand of pearls and those nice black "dresses" we have on? My big is actually crouching behind almost every girl in that picture holding one of her old concert black dresses around our shoulders as a drape. I think she said that the cost per photo ended up being like 4 something. But we got the composite during summer, and it looks FANTASTIC. We all look beautiful. The idea to do it outside was great, the light is so much more natural and just makes everyone look radiant. Our composite from 02-03 is still MIA though. I think that was a fraternal composite one.

My chapter also did a local photographer. I reccomend looking into it. If you can find one they can turn out great. WE have a few yards of black velvet for the drape and then the strand of pearls and the earings, it worked great for us.

We use Vantine as well and they are great. They can also put your composite onto your web site for you which is great.

Composite
A few people I know switched over from Greek Yearbook to Fraternal Composite Services, they might have been a little slower than the other companies but a few things stood out, they use real wood frames which looks classy and when we compared it to the greek yearbook composite we had it made it look like a glorified poster. We shopped at vantine but Fraternal Composite had far and away the best price, and lets face it when a company can match the best quality with the best price, I dont mind waiting a week or two longer!

I think we should all show Patti here what the greek world is about...unity. Here is her email and obviously works for Fraternal *gag* Composite Service. Fraternal is once again on Greekchat showing us all how slimy and pathetic they are. If you google their name and "horrible" or "sucks" or even "bankrupt" which they are again, everyone can see and know the real story behind Fraternal Composite service. By the way if I were GreekYearbook I would sue you for Slander. Get off Greek Chat you are not Greek and do not belong here.

Hello my name is Pat Iannotti and I am an account rep for Fraternal Composite Services. I am new to the buisness and have been assigned to the Athens, GA area to attract new buisness to our company. Fraternal Composite Services offers the best pricing of any composite service in the industry as well as the best quality in the industry! We use REAL WOOD frames and TEMPERED GLASS, not the plexi-glass that turns yellow, don't be the class thats remembered yellow!! Also we are all about making this as easy and hassle free as possible, if you reply to this ad with your class size, I will quote you a price, that simple, we don't need to exchange 50 emails, or play phone tag, I'm sure with all thats going on in college life composite photo's are not something you want to spend a lot time worrying about! So lets make it easy.
Thanks
Pat Iannotti

I don't remember who my campus used, but we all used the same ones. It was horrible... the GA had to be there the entire time because the photographers were inappropriate with the sorority members. In the sense of pulling the drape down FAR TOO LOW (I'm sorry, but I'm an upstanding member in this campus community. No one needs to see tons of cleavage ON OUR COMPOSITE) and touching them way too much for ANYONE'S comfort level.
They were also just general d-bags, and would ask why there were always two extra people (the GA and the chapter president) in the room when they shot the sorority women. As if they didn't know that they made us uncomfortable. Unfortunately, I think the chapters all signed contracts.

I think every chapter at my alma mater used Vantine when I was active. As far as I know, they still do.
