Marietta LXA, Student Senate Pres, dies in accident
(This is at least the fourth Greek to die in traffic over Thanksgiving break)
Marietta College officials were notified that Student Senate President Michael Conte, 21, of Mays Landing, N.J., was killed in a single-car accident returning home from a trip into New York City early Sunday.
A junior majoring in education, Conte was well-known on campus. He was a member of the Lambda Chi fraternity and a McDonough Scholar. He also served as the second floor resident assistant at Mary Beach resident hall and had been a member of the Marietta College men's rowing team his freshman year.
Conte had attended St. Mary's Church in Marietta.
Marietta College will be conducting a campus-wide memorial service for Conte at Fenton Court at Ban Johnson Arena at 7 p.m. Thursday.
According to a family friend, Conte and his girlfriend had attended a play in New York City but ran into inclement weather returning home and had a single-car accident.

First, My Heart goes out to My Brohters and the familys of both.
Two young men were killed in a one care accident in KC along with a young lady and several others. The first were HS friends, one from Kd U. and the other From Ks St. U. Second was a young lady from U Ks. not sure which Sorority the others were from Baker U. also considered from the KC Metro Area and members of Greeks There.
When I was going to The Pitt, I dreaded a Holiday as it seemed The School always lost someone Greek or Not!
People, just be careful during the Holiday Time. It seems to be the most dangerous.

(Sorry about the delayed response, I just found this website)
As a brother of Mike at Marietta College, I want to thank you all for your support of our loss. We have had an overwhelming amount of support and condolences in our time of loss from many greek organizations on our campus and from other schools as well. Events such as these, sad as they are, do show that there is a great amount of friendship between greek organizations and the community as a whole. The memorial service was attended by most of our college because Mike had an impact on almost every one of them. It is comforting to know that he is smiling down on us right now and that he is still with us.

Sorry about your loss bro. Its one of the hardest things I ever had to deal with in college. I lost two undergrad brothers while active. I still carry both of them with me today, and the chapter has since worked their memory into traditions. It was only through the support of my brothers that I ws able to get through it.
Just know, that Mike, like Brian and Chris (the brothers who died from my chapter) are always with us, and they'll always be liek we remember them, young, energetic and happy.
I have posted this here before. I think its from the rememberance ceremony/memorial service, which might be of some comfort for your chapter to perform privately, later.
"A time of grief is a time of faith, a time of hope and a time of love. Faith in God above us who sutstains us in these trying times. Hope for the future, because of our beliefs we know that we will be reunited with all our brothers who have passed before us; and finally Love for our brothers that we feel as we come together to celebrate the life that we were privlaged to know in our brother."
Yours In ZAX,
-Andy
