bye bye wild thing...

apparently, viagra has pulled the ad with the fellow "known as wild thing" and the horns after the fda said it did not include the risks. it just seemed kind of stupid to me.

I think it's sort of silly that they have to talk about the risks on commercials...can't your doctor just tell you that stuff when you go and ask about the medicine? I guess its some sort of "truth in advertising" regulation, but I still think its silly.

HAHAHA! That commercial totally creeped me out -- I don't want to think about that dude spending the entire honeymoon indoors. Yikes.

At least they can say what the drug's for. On Canadian stations, they can either a) talk about the disease or b) use the name of the drug. So we get commericals about very happy men selling viagara, but they can't say what viagraa does.

But the Canadian commercials are sooooooo funny, even if they're totally ruining good songs (currently, they have these guys singing "My Way" in the shower)

Along the same line as beer and liquor commercials in the United States... you can do anything you want in advertising the beer or liquor, but DON'T show anyone in the act of drinking it!

Actually it's not FCC mandated. It may be mandated by the individual stations (network broadcasting comes to mind) but there are commercials that have people actually drinking the alcohol. (I watched examples of it today in my Law and Regulation of Electronic Media class)
