$1.45 Million -- Sigma Chi To Pay in Crash Death

By the terms of a settlement reported in the Nov. 5, 2004 Kalamazoo Gazette, Sigma Chi will pay $1.45 million to the family of a man who was killed in a drunk driving crash.

The drunk driver, a former Western Michigan U student who was under the legal drinking age at the time of the crash, was convicted and sentenced to prison. His family has to pay the family of the victim $294,000.
