Recolonization of Eta Upsilon at UT-Arlington

Brothers,

As you may know, Pike is beginning to recolonize our silent chapter at the University of Texas at Arlington.

I currently work as an Academic Advisor at UTA, and have helped get the ball rolling by recommending faculty and nearly 70 potential students to the two consultants, Josh Fly (Epsilon Theta, Colorado State) and Ben Zitek (Gamma Beta, Nebraska).

In this thread, I'll take you through the expansion process to let you know how things are coming along. Here's a little background on UTA:

-25,000+ students
-2nd largest school in the University of Texas System
-less than 5% greek
-9 fraternities, 4 sororities, multicultural greek orgs.
-largest fraternity has around 50 men

I'd expect that in 5 weeks we will have a strong group which will be one of the best on campus. There are tons of opportunities and I'll be sure to keep you all informed!

To update:

The first week of the project is basically finished. During the first week, primarily what is done are meetings with administration, coaches, student groups, etc. to hear their perceptions of greek organizations and to solicit names of potential students.

Because of thanksgiving, the consultants have had to bump up the time table just a bit. They've started to meet with interested students and have had around 20 first interviews, which is fantastic. I believe that they have also offered invitations to join to several men as well. All of this is very encouraging. I'll be sure to keep you updated.
