Post Activities Needed

I am in charge of the youth at our church. I am fairly new to this job and I am in need of games to play for the youth day. This event will take inside the church santuary. Does anyone know of any activities?

What kind of church do you attend?
How many children or youth will you be working with?
What is the range of ages?

The type of church isn't essential, this is a youth activity-nothing formal. Come as you are style.

The general population of all the youth involved will range from 12+. There are very few young people under the age of 12.
The target area is high schoolers and middle schoolers.

Have you gone to a Bible Bookstore? They usually have inexpensive resources like "101 activities for youth"

My experience has been that boys typically like to be active and girls like to make things (crafts). There are a lot of great websites out there with ideas for youth groups exercises, bible studies, etc. Just time in "Christian Youth Group" or "Church Youth" and you should get tons of stuff.

Role Plays of Biblical situations with a modern day twist, name that tune (with Christian music of course!), and old fashion rap sessions can be good. THe best thing, I think, it to have a brainstorming session with the group to give them some responsibility and begin to develop their leadership skills. Don't let them come to you expecting to be entertained. If it is a large group break them up into 2 or 3s and have them answer the questions : things I like to do, things I don't like to do, things I would like to learn about, etc. and use that to build your lessons.

God Bless you for taking on this job!
