Hi guys, I'm considering pledging a sorority in the spring semester. I'll transfering to a School that has a greek system from one that didn't, and I really don't know that much about the whole process. I've met some Phi Sig's and the seem like really great girls. I was hoping you guys could help to tell me more about Greek life and Phi Sigma Sigma. Also I have a part time job? Will i be able to keep that or does pledging take up too much time for jobs? I'm pretty clueless with everything concerning sororities, so any information you could give would be great. Thanks so much!
Hey!!! That is great. Jobs usually aren't a problem. I am an RA (which is like a part time job....) and many of my sisters had part time jobs when they new membered. As long as your job is flexible and you have time management skills you should be fine. Greek life in general opens up oppurtunities that you never thought possible, so I encourage you to go Greek. Since you transfered, is it formal or informal recruitment you would go through?
You should probably go on line to see what your new campus says about it's greek life. This will give you an idea about requirements and the sororities at their campus. You also might want to read through the Rush forum here on GC to get an idea of how various rushes work - it seems they can differ from region to region and definitely from campus to campus.

I've been reading on the other posts in the rush forum, and I just wanted to say that i'm sorry if I offened anyone by saying that I wanted to pledge. I should have said that I wanted to RUSH instead. Like i said before i'm very new to all this and misused the terms. Sorry!
oh that's ok... i don't think anyone was affended, at least i wasn't! i understand that people who are interested in going greek may not know all the proper terminology... but i am happy to see that you're doing your research on all of it!
