Begin and end the year with the Yankees. That should be interesting. Least the Yankees have to watch the Sox get their rings and watch the Sox raise the WS banner at the season opener at Fenway.

We get to play the Cubbies at Wrigley. That should be fun, especially if Nomar is still there.

I can't wait for this game. I am sure that many Cardinal fans will also be looking forward to this game... I will be back in STL at this time and am thinking I might go to the game and experience it all!

I'm already planning my pre-world-series-cubs-victory party.

Yankees off-season will be extremely interesting. I honestly don't see them signing Beltran; my guess is he goes back to Houston, although the Yankees do need someone to play center field. Bernie just isn't going to cut it defensively next year.

They'll dump Brown and Vasquez, although I'd be more inclined to keep Vasquez and just dump Kevin. I could see them making a run at Eric Milton...they don't have any left-handed starters, and he's a former Yankee farmhand (although he has major injury issues).

Should be interesting, I'll post more later.

Rumor I've read on the net:

Tino might be heading back to the Yankees.

The home run derby at the All Star game in Comerica Park should be interesting this year.

ESPN.com is saying Sammy will stay in Chicago next year; it's getting to be an every-offseason thing where he criticizes management.

Good article, and honestly not a bad way to improve the Yankees for next year; the payroll is going to jump, we all know that, so why not make it a quality jump?

I am so excited for the Braves to start playing!

Every year we get sooo close, dangit. I was at the last World Series game we won a long time ago, lol. Just a kid but I remember it very well! My dad works for a major soft drink company so we had box seats and everything....wonderful! My ex is from Pittsburgh though so he HATED it! lol! Maybe this year will be our year again! and Brian Jordan is back home!

April 8th is the home opener against the Mets. Can't wait!
(edited cause i messed the date up!)

Did anyone else see Barry Bond's tirade today at the Giants pressconference? He just exploded on the media, accused them of spreading lies and said that he's only lied once or twice in his life. IMO, yeah, he comes off looking like a jerk, but I sensed a lot of sincereity in his anger. I also loved how he just flat out called Jose Canseco a biotch.

That's the thing; my first reaction to the conference was that it was rambling and a little odd. After watching hightlights of it again, though, I'd say it's one of the more honest interviews he's had. Was he honest? I don't know, and I'm not sure anyone but Barry knows.

I think, when it's all said and done, he cares what people think. When he eventually breaks Hank Aaron's home run record, he's not going to want people think he did it by cheating.
