Those are the two contendors. I'd have to give the edge to Bonham.

This thread isn't about who is the best. Its about who is the most Rock 'n Roll, and Zep's drummer takes the blue ribbon.

Dude from Def Leppard. If having one arm isn't rock n roll, I don't know what is.

I personally believe Danny Carey From TOOL is currently the best drummer out there. The guy plays in time signatures that are just plain ridiculous. He also infuses electronic drums into the mix therefor making his sound very diverse.
Also, if ever herd a band call Meshuggah, the drummer is one of the most technically inclined drummer I've ever herd. He'll play in all these intricate time sigs, but he'll always keep this 4/4 feel going on top of it.
Then you have Neil Pert of Rush, the drummer's drummer.
Zach Velmer, Terry Bozzio, Bill Bruford, Joey Baron, and Kris Meyers are not too shabby.

There is nothing more rock n roll than dying by choking on vomit (and as Spinal Tap has shown us, it doesn't have to be your own vomit.)
