So I was eating breakfast at work this morning...
And usually I eat in the breakroom, today I decided to eat in the dining room and read the newspaper. A couple sat down at the table next to me and I heard the guy say something and I was like "wow he has a deep voice".
So I put the paper down when I was getting up to go back to work and who was at the table next to me?
World famous opera singer Simon Estes.

That's pretty interesting.
Years ago I was having lunch in downtown Indianapolis getting ready to direct a Colts/Broncos pre season game and I looked up and Bjorn Borg was sitting two tables away.

I was on a plane ride coming back from NYC when I heard a woman talking. I turned around and realized it was CCH Pounder (from older ER episodes and the Shield)!
When we got off to baggage plane, I saw her there...I went over and told her I thought she was a great actress and an asset to the Shield. She looked genuinely surprised!

One of my sisters flew next to "Slater" from Saved By the Bell, and didn't know who he was....had a perfectly normal conversation with him during the flight. When the plane landed someone asked her how it was to fly next to someone famous, then she realized who she was sitting next to!!

I once flew next to Alan Sheppard. I regaled him with tales of a harrowing flight from Mexico. This was right after the movie Apollo 13 came out. When he stood up, I noticed the picture at his feet of himself with his flight crew. Good grief, he could have told me of harrowing flights to the moon!

Cool thread.
I was sitting at a great restaurant Papa's in LB when my boyfriends dad stands up to shake a mans hand. I figured it was an old coot from his oil platform so I take a huge bite of my tri-tip sandwich & look up. Standing there was my idol, Tommy Lasorda! I was floored! I tried to say hello & ended up choking on my sandwich. What an impression. He was so nice though & I still cherish that memory.

I see famous people all the time. I think the biggest celebrity is Patrick Ewing. He was on the airplane to the Bahamas, and he received a standing ovation from the passengers. I also flew on a plane with David Blaine and Josie Maran. The best was when I went to a comedy club and Jerry Seinfeld surprised us all by doing his new act.

Here are a few brushes with fame from the last year:
-stood next to John Kerry while Peter from Peter Paul and Mary sang Puff the Magic Dragon while standing next to Howard Dean. Kerry made the hand signal of smoking a joint.
-got hugged by Carol Mosley-Braun while standing in a muddy field in the rain
-ate pizza with Joan Jett
-within 3 months I talked with Reps. Nadler and Frank in NYC and in Des Moines, IA.
-got in a shouting match with Fred Phelps from godhatesfags.com
I'm sure there are some others I'm forgetting.

I was working at a Footlocker store while in college (circa 1985). One day a gentleman named Vincent Furnier walked in looking for golf shoes before heading off to work in Louisville that night.
Now, ladies and gentlemen, this encounter was most cool because Mr. Furnier is much better known by his stage name, Alice Cooper.

That's funny.......
I saw Alice Cooper back in April when he came to see the Cirque du Soleil show, "Varekai", while it was in San Diego. I worked in the "Tapis Rouge" VIP tent and he was one of the VIP customers. I totally had no idea who he was!!! I just stood there and wondered why my coworkers kept discreetly pointing towards him the whole first half of the evening.
