Happy 75th Anniversary Beta Theta Chapter!
I'm pretty sure no Beta Theta actives read GC, but I'm going to post it anyway:
Today, the Beta Theta chapter (University of British Columbia) will celebrate their 75th anniversary. Alpha Phi was one of the first chapters to come to UBC in 1929, and since their chartering they've never let the light of Alpha Phi go out on their campus.
On a personal note: I became chapter advisor for Beta Theta in April, 2004 after only a year as an Alpha Phi. After a rough couple of years, the chapter is really rebounding, as marked by their successful recruitment this year -- they bid almost three times the numbers of new members this Fall compared to last year's formal recruitment. This chapter is strong -- stronger than it has been in recent memory -- and I have complete faith that the steps they're taking today will ensure that Beta Theta will continue to shine for many years to come.
So happy anniversary to all Beta Theta alumnae -- and a special thank you for making this "Alpha Lambda" feel like an honorary member.
