NAACP Image Awards
I know it just started 15 minutes ago, but I figured I'd start the topic b4 I forgot as I did with the Soul Train Awards
I think I'll borrow from my favorite morning DJ in Atlanta (and a member a Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.) in asking for: the GOOD, the BAD, the UGLY, the WAS THAT REALLY NECESSARY and the I ALMOST DIED LAUGHING WHEN...

the GOOD: everyone looked WONDERFUL...the gowns, oh my goodness...everything was very well done and classy.
the BAD: Shemar Moore. I'm sorry y'all, I'm sick of seeing Mr. "I know I'm finer than you think I am"
the UGLY: Arsenio's hair
the WAS THAT REALLY NECESSARY: Gerald Levert humping the air during Sindey Poiter's tribute
the I AMLOST DIED LAUGHING WHEN: J. Anthony Brown, Cedric the Entertainer & Rickey Smiley AND Chris Tucker & Bill Clinton

HANDS OFF, EYES OFF, MY MAN!!!! I don't want to lay the smack down on your candy @$$, ROFLMAO!!
THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS ALL AROUND. The speeches were beautiful (some bought tears to my eyes), the dresses were CLASSY and SEXY all in one
Arsenio's hair made me go !!! so did Babyface's.
SO a STANDING O for my people tonight working our IMAGE to the highest power.
THE GOOD: The dresses, Ced's suit, the speeches, THE ROCK (KIML22 I am WATCHING YOU ), Sanaa Lathan (although she took my other man, looks like he is happy), Ialso liked how Steve Harvey's wife presented him the award
THE BAD: Arsenio's hair
Was THAT really necessary: JAY LENO, although his jokes were funny
I FELL OUT LAUGHING WHEN: Chris Tucker interviewed Bill CLinton and Bill said he enjoyed EVERY DAY/MOMENT of being President, Sister Odell's singing, J. Anthony and his arthritic butterfly, Chris Tucker questioning MY MAN's ABILITY to read

I have to agree with you on those points although I'm not totally over Mr. Shemar Moore. And about Gerald Levert, the brotha was feeling the song too much

Kelli: how you gonna shout out your Kappa DJ and not acknowledge the Bruhs in your post (Steve Harvey and Ricky Smiley)? The Kappa Klave is coming soon enough and you can get your fix on, lol.
I love to see a class event. People accept their awards speaking English and conjugating verbs properly, unaccompanied by Ray-Ray and Pookie an' nem, while wearing the latest gangsta chic Roc-a-Wear.
Did anyone notice the number of sistas with white dates?
I didn't know my ex got over our break-up til I saw her with Omar. It wouldn't have worked out anyway, she's not a Delta.

I think I heard Chris Tucker make this remark on more than one occasion..."Image". So maybe, Suzanne de Passe (producer) wanted this award show taken to another "level."
I was impressed!
This is probably the closest we will get to an academy award show (black tie affair)
She needs to become the Soul Train Award's producer...lol
Were the awards for music omitted this year or not televised? I thought I remember the show acknowledging music (categories), too.
Yeah, the sistas did have their white dates...I guess they have to get theirs too...
Whatever floats your boat!

Other than Sydney Poitier, Cuba Gooding, and Taye Diggs, who else was down with tha swirl? Was Shemar there with his she-man? lol.
Chris Tucker was big on the Image thing. He and the Rock were funny. Suzanne DePasse used to produce the Soul Train Awards, but that is back when Luther and Patty were the hosts. I still remember how pissed they were when LL got up there an acted a fool.

I'm glad to know you're checking my every move like that. And I'm even more glad to know that the acknowledgement police are on the case. I really wish some of the Bruhs would get over finding fault every time a Soror mentions a frat that's not Omega. Pretty much everyone knows that Steve and Ricky are Bruhs, and if they didn't, you just told them. Regardless of all that, it was IRRELEVANT to what I was saying. I'm sure neither of them are losing sleep because I didn't shout them out. Maybe if there were more Bruhs who acted like they have home training, maybe I wouldn't prefer Kappas...but that's another thread for a different day.
BTW, if you're so into the ACKNOWLEGEMENT, why haven't you wished me a Happy Anniversary yet??
