Post Graduate Certificate Programs
I don't know if these programs exist in the US, but basically they are professional programs offered in community colleges and are designed specifically for people who already have their bachelor's degree (mostly for people who would like to take a different direction in their careers.) If you have taken something like this, how did you find it? Did it help you at all with careers? The programs I am looking at all have co-op or field placements.

I have more than one; however, the certificates are at the graduate level...not sure if it is the same thing...

I've seen certification programs in health care and computers that were offered in University Extension Programs. I'll receive catalogs from local universities, but it'll advertise their extension programs, not their regularly scheduled courses.
You may want to look there...is there is program you're specifically looking for?

Yes, the programs that I've been look into are at the graduate level, but are not master's, PhDs or professional degrees. They're usually one year in length and include an internship/placement. I've been looking at PR and Fundraising Management.

Hey,
there are a ton of programs out there that offer post-grduate certificates or post graduate diplomas.
Seneca College, Humber College, George Brown, and Centennial are probably your best bets.
My mother did a post graduate diploma in Corporate Communications at Seneca and it got her a job. While she didn't go the co-op route, several people in her program did and it got them jobs.
In fact, most programs at Seneca and the other colleges do offer co-op or field placement programs. The undergraduate diploma programs also offer these. In my program at Seneca, next year there will be a field placement.
My father also went to Seneca (can you see a family trend?) and he was offered a job while still in his field placement and ended up leaving the program early to work full time for his field placement employer.
Check out the colleges in the Toronto area. There are tons of professional programs that offer these options.

Maybe that's something I should look at...I don't really have the time or money to get a master's right now, but I'm tired of working retail.
