Hopefully, he doesn't get that chance. If convicted, the Senate ethics committee should give him da boot.

I think he will get re-elected since he is from the biggest Republican state around. I think they will yank his leadership role though after pressure just like they did to Trent Lott in the Senate.

Texas has only recently become a strongly Republican state. His district as I recall is fairly solidly Republican. If he's found to have a hand in this, I'd hope that at the very least, the Senate Ethics Committee gives him the boot.

I'd be happier if he had to face criminal charges like normal people do, but I won't hold my breath.
