When treasurers mess up....

Hey ladies...seems like my chapter treasure "forget" to check any payments that were made in cash for a WHOLE semester . Lucky me. Since creditors are now so politely knocking at my door for money that I've already paid...i was wondering if anyone else has gone through this & what should I do?!?!?!? Take the next step to nationals?? HELP!
