Question for the AKA's

Hi ladies. A woman at my work who is an AKA is pregnant and is due in the winter. She knows that the baby is a girl. I wanted to knit a baby blanket for her and seeing as pink is a color that's always used for girls I wanted to use pink on it, then I thought about doing pink and green. I don't know how she would feel about it, though. What do you think? Would you want your daughter to have pink and green stuff?

Personally, yes. I plan on dressing my nonexistent girlperson in pink and green. I think it's a very thoughtful gift.

Thumbs up heck yeah!

I thought we had a thread about gifts, but I couldn't find it (only the one for new initiates, and that's not really appropriate for this). Always search-challenged. Anyway, OF COURSE I will dress my daughter in pink and green!!! Are you kidding????? People will hate her as much as they hate me, lol.

Already do!

My 9 year old daughter has a really cute striped pink and green shirt that she loves to wear (daddy bought it for her). If I see other stuff that's cute in pink and green, I'll definitely get it for her.

Are you kidding ? My two year old Kelyce thinks that clothes only come in pink and green! If you ask her what her favorite color is she says "pink and green." I say go for it. Your co-worker would not only love the colors, but the fact that you are making it by hand. The presents from my baby shower that I hold most dear, are those that were handmade. They seem to have more significance and I plan on keeping them as heirlooms for my daughter to give to her daughter one day.

It's not a bad idea to start knitting it now seeing as I have discovered that that's roughly how long it takes. Thanks for all your help ladies.

Yeah. . . I started crocheting a blanket for my cousin before he was born. Unfortunately he still doesn't have it, and it's a little cloth on the back of a chair in gran'ma btb87's house. Oh yeah. . . Patrick will be 22 in October. . .

Oh man, this isn't very encouraging. My Big said she wanted a blanket and seeing as I've never knit anything before I thought to myself "how hard can it really be?" so I decided to surprise her and make her one for her birthday. So far, I have about 10 inches done. Her birthday was May 21st....

Yeah, but don't use me as your measuring stick. Once you get in a flow, just do some each night. Maybe it can be her Christmas present! Or her b'day present next year. . . or her Veterans Day 2005 gift. . .or Thanksgiving 2005 gift. . .

Sorry, I couldn't resist! But just do what you can do while you can do it. I've spent whole days cross-stitching, sitting in front of the TV (not lately, this was years and years ago).

I have so many projects that are unfinished, because I'll work on several at one time. I still want to do an afghan and stitch it together; pink and green for me, of course!

This topic reminds me of my cousins who are AKA's. When ever they buy my nieces clothes they are either pink, or green or pink and green. It be so funny cause they be having on all this p and g and then if you look down they have on either red socks or red and white ribbons or baretts or red etc. lol.. if they wear anything p&g I make it a point to have something red on them. It be so funny how people look at them. They be like uhhh that don't match.Who dressed them Its hilourous.
