World commemorates end of slavery

Article Here

Exampled modern slave states here

A bit premature, I think. And I dont understand listing the US as an example when there are far more women and teens/children enslaved in the sex trade in Latin American countries like Guatemala, Nicaragua and even Mexico.
But good to keep highlighting the problem so that the issue can be further dealt with.

ETA: meant to say "premature, I think, to call it the end of slavery"
especially with these facts:

Bonded labour (about 20 million people)
Forced labour
Some forms of child labour (179 million)
Sexual exploitation of children
Trafficking (more than 800,000 people per year - US Government estimate)
Early or forced marriage
Chattel slavery

It's sad that the Democrats wanted to keep slavery alive.
