Interesting Ebay Item
Hi Ladies-
I just spotted a beautiful little Chi Omega box on Ebay. It is not identified correctly by the seller, so you might miss it. She calls it a fraternity stash box, for heaven's sake!
Happy shopping!

I saw that, too. The pin, although very beautiful, cannot possibly be from 1894 though, right ladies? Gotta love these Ebay sellers that present guesses & assumptions as accurate information and don't even seem to try.
Note the disclaimer way way way at the bottom of the listing now

You are correct, thetalady, it cannot possibly be from 1894 as we were not founded until April of 1895. Hopefully a sister will be able to snatch this one up, perhaps even a legacy of the original owner.

Also, I doubt it's event that old. You can't see the engraving from the picture, so if there is an initiation date I can't tell. However, I have seen older badges from the late 1800's early 1900's and the shape of the Omega is very different, much more rounded. Also, the engraving of the skull and the owl were different way back when as well. I have a feeling this isn't even close to vintage...

NOT VINTAGE
I bet you $1 that this pin belonged to the 1894th initiate of her chapter (in which case, depending on the chapter, is from the 1970s-90s.)

A whole dollar, Nut?!? Wow!!
Or I had another thought, maybe the dumb seller didn't read the number right and it's actually a date 1/8/94! That would make it really really not vintage!
