Except this time.
Just as a matter of quick recall, Halliburton has:
Been accussed of price gouging on gasoline sold to the armed forces.
Been accussed of charging for more meals than were actually served.
Been accussed of running empty trucks back and forth between Iraqi destinations -- calling them backups.
Gotten many of the contracts without competitive bids.
Maybe the timing here is politically motivated (but, if so, why is it the DOD raising the question?), but if any or all of the items in question are true, shouldn't it be investigated?
Even in government, "A billion here and a billion there, and pretty soon we're talking about some real money!"
