ASA Legacy Question

Ok...so with the baby on the way it rasied an interesting question.... I was talking with my (future) sister-in-law (yes, the one with the out-of-control kids) and I mentioned something about it would be exciting to have a legacy. So she asked what a legacy was and I said that it was a daughter, granddaughter, or niece of a member and briefly explained the significance, etc. So anyway, she then came to the conclusion that when Ernesto and I get married, Courtney (her daughter) would be an ASA legacy. Now, I know that some soroites (I'm not sure of ASA) makes provisions for step-families, BUT Courtney would be the step-daughter of my husband's step-brother. (However, Ernesto never really knew his real father because he died when Ernesto was 5, so he always grew up agknowldging Daniel (the psycho-lady's husband) as his real brother and Daniel's father as his own father.) Anyway....it was kind of a smile and nod moment, because honestly, I really doubt she'll end up going to college (with an ASA chapter), and I keep reminding myself that it's not her fault that her and brothers are out-of-control...

So, how would you answer this question? Would a step-step-niece count????
