Printing Rituals

If it's not too personal, I was wondering how your organizations handle mass distribution of sensitive information? With so many hundreds of thousands of members in many orgs, do you have to send your information to printing shops?

I have heard that some orgs use a print shop owned by a member and only print copies of secret materials when they are revised. They print enough for all chapters and colonies and enough for replacements/expansions. The extras are kept in a vault.

New or replacement copies are delivered by hand (staff) and there are stiff fines for replacement. All copies of printed materials are individually numbered. The extremely sensitive information is never printed, only alluded to, and is passed down 'mouth to ear'.

Some orgs require that sensitive info be left with the advisors over the summer or left in a safe deposit box.

...but this is just what I hear.....

I have no idea who prints it, but I do know that most GLO's get their ritual equiptment from the same company. They do not have a catalogue and the website is very vague. You basically tellthem what you want and draw it up and they make it just for you. They are very good about not letting the information out. Keep all your rituals numbered and make people sign them out if they are taking them out of the "Vault".

I can neither confirm, nor deny, if we print our ritual.

PhiPsiRuss: Your answer suggests your fraternity does print your ritual, but keeps this fact a secret. However, this is purely speculation on my part and we can just leave it at that.

SAE, like most other fraternities so far as I am aware, does print its ritual, but only in limited quantity. Each volume is individually numbered and apart from chapters collegiate (a limited number per chapter), chapter advisors, national and regional officers, and members of the national ritual committee (I think that about covers everybody), not just any member can get a copy for himself. These books are, naturally, published privately, thought I have no idea by whom exactly.

Russ, your post suggests that you do indeed have a ritual. So what do you have to say about that? Huh? Huh?

I can honestly neither confirm nor deny anything about the ritual.
Why? We're a colony and do not know anything about the supposed ritual- or even if it exists.

I can neither confirm nor deny the existance of any Sigma Nu "ritual".

To what are you people referring?

I can neither confirm nor deny the presence of nuclear weapons in a U.S. military installation, either! Or that the sharp-looking military aide walking a few steps behind the President is carrying the SIOP (The Single Integrated Operational Plan, the holy of holies of all military secrets, also known as the 'nuclear football'.)

Seriously, though, there are some fraternities and sororities that instruct their members not to reveal any detail about their ritual and secret work to anyone not a member. And that includes whether the ritual is printed or not and specific items of ritualistic regalia used in their ceremony.

My fraternity does print its ritual and issues a limited number of numbered copies to each chapter. There are certain parts that are transmitted only 'mouth to ear' and do not appear in any detail. Making copies of any part of the ritual book is strictly prohibited, even for the internal use of the chapter to practice.

The only public ceremony in which ritualistic robes are used in Alpha Sigma Phi is the Black Lantern Processional. All members wear black hooded robes except for the marshal, who wears white. All carry black Diogenes lanterns (or in a pinch, a kerosene lantern) and march in a slow, funereal cadence. Some chapters use the processional to pick up the candidates for initiation, others use it as a memorial for brothers who entered Omega chapter. There are other robe colors used in the ritual (not in the Black Lantern Processional), but obviously I am not at liberty to discuss them.

I can confirm the existance of an organization known as "Sigma Nu". As to its nature and intent, I'm afraid I can neither confirm nor deny that it has any kind of nature or intent.
