Question Question for DG's

What exactly is Anchor Splash? Is it a philanthropy or carnival-type fest or what? There were no DG's at my school which is why I'm clueless! Thanks.

Dear 33girl-

Anchor Splash is a philanthropic event hosted by Delta Gamma chapters every year, held at the schools Natatorium ,or whatever is available. All of the other Greek organizations, (and some non-greek ones as well) participate in all kinds of water events. Its really lots of fun, and for a good cause.Hope that helped.

Cool

AnchorSplash raises money for the Delta Gamma Foundation. Frats can get together and do sychronized swimming, and relays. Check it out!

Well, I am not a DG, obviously, but I just wanted to say that at my school, they had Anchorslam instead of Anchorsplash. It was a basketball tournament. For the same cause, though.

At Kent, in addition to Splash events the DGs also hosted Anchor King and Beautiful Eyes pageants. Anchor King was obviously for the guys, and B.E was for girls from other sororities. These pageants were in conjunction with Anchor Splash and helped raise money for the same cause. One of the components of the Beautiful Eyes contest was that pictures of the contestants were posted with penny jars at the student center, and you could "vote" for a girl by putting pennies in her jar. It wasn't the only part of the contest, but it counted towards the final winner.

Hey there beautiful DG's. I just wanted all of you to know how lovely your chapter is here at UT. My sorority had an awesome time at Anchor Splash and I have such fun hanging out with your sisters. The DGs at the University of TEnnessee are nice, funny, cool people who everyone loves to be around with. You have a really strong awesome chapter here, and I love them! Just thought you should know how awesome ya'all are!

Hello there...
Anchor Splash is a fundraiser for DG's philanthropy, Service for Sight. At my school, Columbia University, we hold lots of different relay races in the pool, with each house on campus having a team. We also hold synchronized swimming contests, a "challenge the DGs" contest, and then funny things like a Mr. Anchor Splash contest. All in all it's a great day and raises lots of money for a fabulous philanthropy!

Thanks for asking. Take care.

At my school the DG's have Anchor Freeze which is a hockey tournament among the Fraternities on campus. They also do a Beautiful Eyes contest among the sororities, and by the way, one of my best friends and sister won this year! I have much respect for ya'll, I preffed you and ADPi! I would have been proud to wear the anchor, but ADPi was my true home.
