Hrm...I think the sticky note would probably not stick so well; especially if he's got his head down on the table.
My high school English teacher had some really fun ways of dealing with students who would sleep during the early morning class:
1) He had a big stuffed teddy bear in his desk drawer. He would get the bear out and tuck it under the arm of the offending sleeper. This was quite amusing when a member of the football team fell asleep. The person would eventually wake up and feel silly.
2) He would just walk by and loudly pound his fist on the table and scare the daylights out of the student.
3) He would get all of the students in the room to get up and quietly switch seats with other people around the room. Then, he'd continue on with the lecture. When that student woke up, they'd be *really* confused.
4) Since we lived in Southern California, he would sometimes start shaking the student's desk and yell "earthquake!!!"
5) He'd have everyone in the class sit very quietly and just stare at the offending student. Imagine the embarassment when the student rustles awake to find the entire class staring at them.
I vote for #1 on my list. This would work especially well if you can get a picture of the person with the teddy bear to post in the employee lunch room or something like that.
