So I was talking to one of my sisters/former roommates who is now the ATC at Beta Delta (Colorado College) and she was telling me about the goings on of Convention and she told me that our wonderful chapter of initiation (Alpha Epsilon) won....
THE FOUNDER'S AWARD!!!!!
This is a HUGE honor! Especially since we were in the category with the largest chapters (140+ I think) including Theta (Indiana), Iota (Illinois), Xi (Michigan), Alpha Psi (Ole Miss), Delta Sigma (Auburn), Texas, Texas A & M, and basically a bunch of large chapters from large schools (and mostly state schools). My university only has about 7,000 undergradsSince my school is in the Midwest, we used to hear a lot about the larger state schools near us with DG Chapters including Indiana, Illinois, and Mizzou (Mu chapter) and about all of the awards they had all won...especially Indiana. It is truly a testament to the hard work the girls have put in this year and how much we put in in the past (I graduated in '02...not too long ago) and how with each year our chapter raises the bar of excellence.
Sorry for the long-winded post, but I'm truly excited about this honor!
Also congrats to Eta Theta (St. Louis U.) for winning the same award in their size category as well (they only opened in the Fall of '01!)--I guess the St. Louis area is just filled with true excellence
An additional congrats to Alpha Epsilon on another PPD award! And the same to all of the other PPD winners
