Locked threads

Is it just me or is every other thread being locked on GC? I can't get over the ignorance and intolerance of people on here of late.
It's to the point where someone needs to have a "sit down" and just hash out things.
There are people everywhere that have different opinions and have different backgrounds that create their viewpoints... GC is an ONLINE community where people can share these viewpoints...
Maybe it is just me, but people seem to try and start things a lot of times from what I have been reading.
Someone will say "I like chicken broiled not fried" and it turns into "why can't you just say you like chicken? what do you have against FRIED chicken? what are you REALLY saying?" and that person gets tortured and becomes defensive.
Do people really feel the need to annoy others and patronize them.
Get over it and move on. If you don't like someone ignore them, that feature is available!
It's like my momma said "if you can't say something nice, then don't say anything at all".

I'm just glad I am not a newer member, I doubt they stay around long. I know I don't post much anymore, I lurk but seriously this is crazy! It seems like there are four or five threads being locked a day or something!

BTW I have used some very exaggerated examples. I, in no way, shape or form dislike chicken fried, I like chicken in almost every edible form.
