In response too....
All I wanna say since I didn't get to respond is this..
LOUD MUSIC IS LOUD MUSIC NO MATTER WHAT TYPE IT IS. THAT BE THE CASE, YOU ARE STILL DISTURBING THE PEACE REGARDLESS AND BASELINES HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH IT!
That is all.

And to respond, I'd say that different genres of music have synthetic bass lines that go through solid surfaces a lot easier. Rap, hip-hop and techno almost ALWAYS have synthetic bass lines. No other music is quite like that.

Loud music is annoying especially if it is music that you dislike.

If there was an initial thread about loud music I missed it. But this reminds me of my ex-boyfriend. He moved onto a street in the West Village of Manhattan that is basically all clubs and bars. He lives next to a bar. He was forever calling the cops about the noise. I can understand to an extent however if you live in a location that you know is pretty busy and you can't deal with the noise then don't move there duh!!!

He was kind of a moron, yes?
Kind of reminds me of folks who move in next door to fraternity houses and complain when there is noise.

Listen.
When you start so many, sometimes you lose track.

I don't live by the clubs. Unfortunately, sometimes clubs open up in places that were quieter businesses that closed. There are always petitions to close these clubs. Sometimes that is successful at either reducing the noise or closing the clubs.
There was a story about how the Meat Packing District in NYC is becoming more residential. People who moved in were annoyed that they were being awakened at the crack of dawn by trucks picking up meat. Guess what? You moved into a neighborhood called the Meat Packing District not the library quiet hours district so suck it up.
Mayor Bloomberg is trying to make NYC less noisy. Part of his plan is to make the Mr. Softee ice cream sellers stop playing their jingle. I really think that he has gone too far. I loved that as a child. I heard that jingle and I drooled like Pavlov's dog and begged my mother for money for ice cream. Good times.

I LOVE Mr. Softee. Haven't had it in almost a year, due to Atkins. Every time I see one of those trucks, I drool like Pavlov's dog.

Hey, don't bite my "I drool like Pavlov's dog" line. Biter!!! Next you'll tell people to stop biting.
I really want Mr. Softee right now.
